13th Annual Transworld Riders’ Poll Awards recognizes iconic snowboarder Jamie Lynn with the Legend Award.

Between the Winter X Games, SIA, and the 13th Annual Transworld Riders’ Poll Awards…it’s been a crazy and epic week in the world of snowboarding. One of the highlights was seeing our friend and former SESSIONS snowboarding team rider, Jamie Lynn accept the Legend Award from Transworld. Since the beginning, Jamie has made a huge impact on snowboarding, continuously raising the bar for the sport. We couldn’t be more stoked for him in all that he’s accomplished…and continues to accomplish in his career. He is and always be an important part of the SESSIONS family and we’re glad we could be there to see him receive this award.

Tim Brauch Memorial Contest 2011 Video

by Margaux on November 29, 2011

Sessions presents the 13th annual Tim Brauch Memorial contest, honoring Tim and promoting youth skateboarding in the local community. The Tim Brauch Memorial Fund (TBMF) is an independent scholarship fund and a skateboard park development fund established in 1999. The fund was created to keep giving back to the sport of skateboarding that Tim loved so much! By giving scholarships and promoting skatepark development we are promoting kids to be active outside.  The TMB vision is that through skateboarding, kids will develop discipline, confidence, motivation and other traits that encourage success.

Thanks to Kaya Lampe for this great footage and edit!

Meet Nick Ennen: Sessions Team Snowboard Rider

by Sessions on November 6, 2011

Nick Ennen | Sessions Team Snowboard RiderI started Skiing at Baker when I was 9 months old because my father was on Ski Patrol for 20 years.  From growing up at Baker and riding I remember seeing snowboarders such as Craig Kelly just starting to hit the slopes and knew I wanted to snowboard.  Craig Kelly was a big influence on me picking up a snowboard.

One thing about me is I love the back country so in my adventures in snowboarding the thing that has provided the best access for me is on a snowmobile.  I spend most of my winters in the back country areas of most the west side of the United States.  WA, OR, CA, ID, MT, WY, NV, UT, and CO.

I have also been wakeboarding professionally since high school.  With wakeboarding I like to look at it a little different then the most.  I have a high speed winch that I can bring anywhere and am able to do lines down a rivers, waterfalls, log slide, and rock jibs.  This has changed my view on wakeboarding because it is a mix between wakeboarding and snowboarding. My sponsors in wakeboarding are O’Brien wakeboard and MB Sport Boats.

I also am a part owner in a video production company called Wild Card Movies.  We have produced for two snowboard movies for FUEL TV in the past two years as well as one wakeboard show last year.  Last years snowboard movie is called “The Saturday Night Ride”.  The Year before was “How the NorthWest Was One”. Check out wildcardmovies.com for snowboarding.   On the wakeboard side we produced a show called AguaPlease.  You can check it out at aguaplease.com to see winching as well as other amazing wakeboard locations.

I feel that what I am most passionate about being in amazing pristine places such as the Mt.s, Islands, Rivers, Lakes and forest while doing my hobbies and job. Mt. biking, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, wake boarding, and snowboarding.)

Sessions Rider Nick Visconti Featured on ESPN

by Sessions on November 1, 2011

ESPN.com Feature Article on Nick Visconti, Sessions Snowboarding Team Rider

In the article, Look Who’s Calling Nick Visconti, ESPN snowboarding writer Matt Vanatta identifies Visconti as “one of the most progressive snowboarders riding today,” and credits this to his outside-the-box imagination and determination.

When Vanatta asked Visconti to speak to the idea that the industry has become so much about appearance, he said: “If nothing else, snowboarding should be so far beyond that, because we are individuals it’s an expression of ourselves. It’s an art form.”

All of us at Sessions are proud to be sponsors of Nick Visconti. Click here to read the full article on ESPN.com
